Backdrops

Choose from 3 festive backdrops

• Classic white Christmas: Our neutral, soft setup with wooden props. Best for: families with young children, newborns, and anyone after a timeless, gentle look that suits any home.

• Red velvet and Christmas tree: A rich, festive setup with the full Christmas feel. Best for: couples, families, and anyone wanting a bold, traditional holiday photo.

• Simple red or navy paper with festive props: A clean, minimal backdrop with a few seasonal touches. Best for: kids, pets, and individuals or groups who want natural, candid expressions to take over.

Can't decide? In your 20-minute session you're welcome to use more than one backdrop, as long as we move along quickly. Just let us know which ones you'd like to include when you book.

What To Wear

Classic white Christmas (neutral backdrop)
Think soft, earthy tones: creams, tans, soft browns, dusty pinks, and muted sage or oatmeal. Textured knits, cosy cardigans, flowy dresses, and chunky jumpers all photograph beautifully against the wooden props. Keep everyone in the same colour family so the look feels calm and cohesive.

Red velvet and Christmas tree
This is the one to dress up for! Go for sparkly or sequinned Christmas outfits, velvet, satin, or a bold solid colour. Deep greens, forest green, gold, black, and cream all pop against the red. Avoid reds that match the velvet, as you'll disappear into the backdrop. Metallic accessories, bow ties, and festive hair bows are a lovely touch.

Simple red or navy paper backdrop
Keep it simple so the festive props and expressions shine. For the red backdrop, choose a solid colour that contrasts, such as cream, grey, green, or navy. For the navy backdrop, lighter shades like cream, blush, soft pink, and mustard stand out well. Plain, solid pieces work best, with Christmas pyjamas or a cosy knit if you want something playful.
